On this site, you will find a rhythmic database of various West African, American, Afro-Cuban, and Brazilian rhythms. It is the purpose of this site to compile these rhythms for use in a school setting. Also, you will find the framework which supports this endeavor; embodied rhythm. Embodied rhythm, which is a fusion of O Passo, traditional rhythms, as well as elements from Yoga, drum circles, and social justice, seeks to change the concept of rhythm from a passive activity to an active agent of change.
